Item Description
Impressive, sculptural, intergrown large azurite crystals from Tsumeb. The striking miniature is composed of two doubly terminated, blocky, tapered crystals. The lustrous, partially striated crystals appear to be midnight-blue to navy blue in normal line, but bright light reveal zones of pretty royal blue color, adding pizzazz. Complete all-around and nearly a pristine floater, with only a small attachment on the side of the smaller crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with no number. It was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). An unusually robust miniature pair of large azurite crystals from Tsumeb.
