Item Description

Some of the finest Azurite crystals ever found are those from Tsumeb. The size and quality of the top crystal certainly puts them in the top ranks for the species worldwide. This piece is an aesthetic small cabinet display specimen featuring a 6.1 cm, doubly-terminated crystal of dark midnight blue Azurite, which is partially altering/pseudomorphing to dark green Malachite, flaring off of matrix. A few smaller Azurite crystals (which have pseudomorphed further to Malachite than the big crystal) can be seen on the lower portion of the specimen, along with a bit of dark olive green Bayldonite for a nice touch. No damage that I can find, and it's very showy and eye-catching. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen, valued $3,000.
