Azurite (doubly terminated) and Wulfenite

Stunning example of a quite rare Azurite/ Wulfenite association from the famous Touissit-Bou Beker mining district in Morocco. Beyond the simple rarity of the combination, each species has its own exceptional qualities. The highly-lustrous, deep-blue Azurite is doubly-terminated, and the smaller sidecars show off, to great effect, the highly-attractive translucence of Moroccan Azurites. The Wulfenites are exceedingly unusual in habit and color, both enhanced by excellent luster. This is one of only a few specimens with this association that I have personally seen, and a long-time Moroccan Wulfenite collector who has been a source of other specimens backs up just how rare such a combination this is. The contrast is as beautiful as it is surprising, and the interesting nature and beauty simply add to the breadth of the aesthetics. The azurite is also a perfect, doubly-terminated floater crystal. It has luster and form...superb in its own right. The combination, however, takes it to another level and we have never seen anything comparable to suggest pricing from. NOTE: we have not analysed this but it looks like it does not have the style and weight of cerussite, so we presume Dr. Pohl's label catalog is correct on the wulfenite attribution.
