Item Description
Unusual and attractive, this combination miniature is from the famous copper mines at Bisbee. The rich-blue Azurite crystals are tabular and rounded, and the fan they create is 2.3 cm across. You would expect this cluster to have the usual appearance of a rosette, but the flattened nature of the crystals creates more of a 'lily pad' look, which in itself is intriguing and aesthetic. The blue flashes of color are strong, much more so than usual for Bisbee material. Also out-of-the-ordinary are the 6 mm strange copper-brown spheres that accent the piece (presumably goethite or some alteration of malachite). Having this trio display as they do makes this a special miniature.
