Item Description

Azurite specimens are not commonly seen from this locality, and this one is certainly a showy and fine quality example new to us - and confirmed with reference to New Mexico tech's collection recently as well (also, we shoudl trust a Stoudt New Mexico label as it is his specialty). An intense blue colored layer of rather lustrous micro Azurite crystals are coating bladed Baryte and cubic Fluorite, on matrix. The largest Baryte blade measures 9 mm across, and the Fluorites measure up to about 5 or 6 mm on edge. Upon close inspection, I can see some small prismatic Quartz crystals, which are also mostly coated by Azurite. The rich color, beautiful presentation and rare locality make it a very desirable specimen for any fan of secondary copper minerals or specimens from New Mexico.
From the collection of Dave Stoudt.
