Item Description

Azurites from Bisbee are among the most iconic specimens from the American southwest. A classic specimen of old Bisbee material featuring well-formed, spherical "rosettes" of beautiful blue Azurite which are sitting on oxidized matrix. The largest "rose" on the piece measures 1.1 cm across. Good quality, with only one notable contact, and very attractive for this historic material from Bisbee. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4709). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
