Item Description
A hard to find Azurite specimen from Broken Hill, NSW, Australia featuring several razor-sharp, rather lustrous, deep midnight blue colored crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm, with minor associated Malachite on matrix. Some of the Azurites with strong backlighting are actually gemmy(!) inside, showing a vivid indigo hue internally. There are some rough spots, so the crystals are not completely pristine, but the piece has good composition and is quite showy, especially in a thumbnail. It's rare to find good quality presentable Azurite thumbnails from this locality, so if you're a thumbnail collector or a fan of secondary copper minerals, don't miss out on this one.
