Azurite (classic locale)

Striking parallel-growth clusters of highly lustrous, striated, tabular, multi-hued azurite crystals dominate the very sculptural, layered small cabinet matrix on this impressive specimen from renowned and extinct Tsumeb. The crystals are predominantly midnight-blue, but beautiful areas of royal-blue and "electric-blue" really add pizzazz to the azurites. The large, dominating frontal azurite on the left is 4.8 cm long. The noted bruising is certainly a minimal detraction to this specimen. Ex Raul Sanabria Collection. Raul was the lead author in the recent, 2024, fine Berbes! Mineralogical Record issue, Vol 55, No. 1. The piece displays well without aid. A classic and fine example of this azurite style from the famed locale; and comes from his small suite of various styles of old Tsumeb azurites. Valued $2000-plus.
