Item Description

A very rare, very rich and showy combination specimen from an old and little-known locality: Sierra Rica, Chihuahua, Mexico. Gorgeous, bubbly, botryoidal aggegates of "electric-blue" azurite blades are richly strewn on all sides of the sculptural, quartz-rich matrix. The protected vugs in the front of the piece host numerous, white, adamantine-luster, cyclic-twinned and bladed cerussite crystals to 5 mm. The azurites GLOW in bright light! Outstanding and rare combination material from this relatively unknown Chihuahua locale. Ex. Harold Urish Collection # 637. His label says Ohinaga, Chihuhua, but we believe Sierra Rica is correct.
