Item Description

A showy, rich and fine plate of azurite crystals accented with green bayldonite from the famous 1994 Tsumeb discovery known as the 'Easter Pocket' from the 8 Level, the last major azurite find at Tsumeb. The tabular, dark navy-blue crystals, to 1.8 cm, have very good luster and beveled edges. "Electric-blue" color is scattered in the blades and is really apparent in faces of broken crystals. Periphery wear and some interior bruising are noted, but this remains a rich, showy and highly representative example from a highly sought-after find. None are available on the market, and generally they are priced in the many thousands of dolalrs, even for representative pieces. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection.
