Choice combination piece featuring Azurite, one of Tsumeb's 'Holy Grail' species, in combination that elevates it to another level. Sitting perfectly atop this large miniature is a 2.8 cm cluster of Azurites that have superb luster and a deep, vibrant color. There are even some of the desirable blue flashes along the edges of the crystals. Below the Azurites is an abundant amount of bright-green Arsentsumebite, for which Tsumeb is the TYPE LOCALITY, and a rounded, 1.2 cm 'bean' of deep-green Malachite. All rest on a white Anglesite matrix, which itself features a sharp, elongated, 2.3 cm Anglesite crystal. This first-rate combination piece, with such high quality and aesthetics, was formerly in the renowned collections of Georg Gebhard and Dr. Stephen Neely. Valued $4000-5000. This particular style is very rare, and seldom seen for sale. It is said to date to the 1930s or earlier.
