Item Description

Azurite is rare from the famous mines at Butte and is extremely rare in specimens. This is possibly a UNIQUE combination specimen from the Continental East Pit of both well-developed azurite crystals and splendent molybdenite crystals. A 1.0 cm vug is fully lined with sparkly royal-blue azurite prisms, which have desirable "electric-blue" gemminess. The scultpural quartz matrix also hosts stringers of bright and sharp, metallic-gray, molybdenite crystals and seams and pods of more azurite. A must for the locality and species collector. This is an over-the-top Butte combination rarity, if not of a huge value per se. Ex Richard Haas and Robert Whitmore Collections. Haas was known for his Montana collection
