Item Description

Supremely lustrous, navy-blue, stepped-growth tapered azurite disks and sharp azurite crystals are richly and attractively clustered on two sides of the sculptural small cabinet with complementary malachite covering hefty sulfide ore matrix from the famous mines at Bisbee. It is of a style that indicates it should be early 1900s material. The striking 3.5 cm sculptural dense cluster of large disks has crystals to 1.5 cm long (doubly terminated). The distinctively different adjacent side is richly carpeted with smaller disks and sharp crystals. ALL of the crystals GLOW with electric-blue and royal-blue color under bright light. Scattered periphery wear has minimal impact to the overall high quality of this very fine combination classic. This beautiful old-timer was collected prior to 1906, according to the Harris Precht label. Ex Chad Dalrymple collection of Ardmore, Oklahoma who passed away in 1995. We recently obtained a portion of his collection. Chad acquired this excellent Bisbee azurite and malachite specimen from well-known Indiana collector and dealer, Harris Precht in May, 1995.
