Item Description
A showy, old-time and classic azurite and malachite specimen from the famous mines at Chessy, France. One end of the vuggy vein, attractively sandwiched between matrix, is filled with sharp, lustrous, midnight-blue azurite blades, some pseudomorphing to malachite. The other, open end of the vein has botryoidal, velvet malachite. A very nice juxtaposition and contrast of these two, very similar species. The ancient Chessy mines were closed by the end of the 19th century and this is a fine example of classic forms and species. The bit of contacting has minimal effect on this highly representative old-timer. Comes with a German label.
