Item Description

A classic locality piece in large size, from this most famous of all USA copper mines. It was worked from the late 1890's to about 1910, and produced the most famous Bisbee azurites. The rich color, and contrast, made them famous around the world at the time. This is a very 3-dimensional specimen. Here, rosettes of deep blue azurite and rich green malachite are mixed together on this specimen resulting in a palette of rich, contrasting colors. It also shows some alteration to malachite. Ex. Urish collection and valued years ago at $1000-1250.
