Item Description
A dramatic and aesthetic CABINET specimen from recent finds in China. The three striking vugs on this imposing, 3-sided piece each have a totally different sculptural look. But, they are all filled with scintillating spherical aggregates of bladed, navy-blue azurite crystals and have desirable "electric-blue" highlights under strong light. The banding of the lighter blue azurite along one side of the elongated vug is a beautiful contrast, as are the numerous areas of banded, botryoidal malachite. Each side has a totally different look. The quality of the azurite is outstanding. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but is a very modest detraction to this artistic specimen. Chinese azurites of this quality compare very favorably with Bisbee material. High praise. Valued at $1000-1250.
