Item Description

Rosettes of lustrous, rich blue azurite clusters to 3.5 cm across are aesthetically perched on a natural pedestal of lustrous, drusy malachite. The contrast here is striking, and the rich, aesthetic piece is highly unusual for this locality. The color contrast is spectacular but, again, it is the overall composition of this piece that makes it dramatically stand out amongst others from this locality we have seen over the years! This would be, probably, from the 1980s finds here - considered amazing and classic at the time. For the size, it would be one of the larger and finer examples, and was valued highly when owned by the Pellmans for the unique shape and composition. Ex. Norm and Roz Pellman collection (Tucson).
