Item Description
A facinating and very aesthetic specimen from recent finds in China. A fabulous, 1.5 cm, velvet malachite ball dominates and looks like the pommel on the very sculptural, saddle-shaped matrix of malachite. Both sides of the "saddle" are covered with two generations of azurite, bright royal-blue azurite is overlain by sparkly, sharp, midnight-blue azurite crystals. The light bruising on the malachite ball is a minimal detraction. The quality of the aesthetics, azurite and malachite are outstanding. This would be a $750-1000 specimen, if perfect. Chinese azurites and malachites of this quality compare very favorably with Bisbee material. High praise.
