Item Description
Kerrouchen, Morocco has produced outstanding azurite and malachite specimens and this is a very fine, sculptural example from the major 2004 finds. This aesthetic, stacked cluster of highly lustrous, royal-blue azurite blades is capped by a striking, sharp, 2.3 cm crystal, that is half azurite and half altered to malachite! An adjacent crystal is almost entirely pseudomorphed by malachite. The bit of attached matrix is a super accent. One side of the large crystal is contacted, but there is no damage, per se. This is a beautiful, very fine half and half, two-sided specimen, that resembles the new Milpillas, Mexico material, but is not.
