Item Description
An attractive matrix specimen of Azurite from the famous Milpillas Mine. These contemporary specimens are among the best in the world for the species in terms of quality, and they will go down and some of the most significant Azurites ever found. This piece features superb quality, sharp, rather lustrous, deep blue, bladed crystals of Azurite measuring up to 1.6 cm covering the display side of the piece. Great quality overall, with only a few minor imperfections that I could find, but the vast majority of the Azurites are undamaged and the piece displays beautifully as you can see from the photos. The crystals are glistening with a juicy rich blue color, and even show a bit of gemminess along the edges when backlit. Minor green Malachite can be seen in areas for a nice touch. You can see how showy it is from the photos, and now we're told that the oxidized zone is finished, so there may not be any more of these specimens from Milpillas again. Valued at $3,000.
