Item Description
This divergent, bowtie-like cluster of Azurite crystals, with the attached jackstraw cluster, is quite distinctive. The crystals are large, very lustrous, well-formed, and exhibit a deep, purple-blue color. WHEN BACKLIT, THEY ARE GEMMY at the edges, and glow beautifully! Most of the luster is superb, and these lustrous areas contrast nicely with the smaller areas that are partially etched, which is quite natural for this copper carbonate. The aesthetics are eye-catching and, overall, this is certainly one of the best Toussit azurites specimens I have had in auction in a long while. Originally priced at $900.
