Item Description
A lovely historic Azurit especimen from one of the most classic localities in all of Europe - (and the type locality for Azurite)! Typically the Azurite specimens from Chessy are found in less than desirable crystals, but this piece is a group of sharp, defined, blue Azurite crystals with minor green Malachite. The crystal faces have good luster, and the overall specimen is very attractive. It is very difficult for collectors to obtain fine quality specimens of this material today, and the fact that this piece hosts multiple crystals makes even more desirable. This specimen was mined in the early 1800s, so it's nearly 200 years old! A great specimen for any collector, a collector of European classics, or anyone who appreciates Azurite.
