Item Description
Gorgeous well defined short blocky to chisel tipped crystals in radiating fans forming an Azurite "rosette." The specimen has a rich dark blue, almost purple blue, electric color with outstanding lustrous faces catching the light from every angle. A spectacular example of an Azurite with a more Chessy looking style but from the Shilu Mine in China. The near floater has one tiny point of attachment and is composed of two intergrown rosettes with visually interesting swirl patterns of Azurite blades up to 1.1 cm individually. There are a few minor areas of associated Malachite noted. The piece has no obvious damage. An exceptional Azurite specimen that has an engaging textural form with a 360 degree display and unbeatable top color! Ex. Jack Halpern Collection No. 3742, from his friend and nearby neighbor in San Francisco, Steve Smale. This would be an early piece out of China in the 1990s.
