Azurite is perhaps the most famous Tsumeb mineral species, and this is such a superb and aesthetic miniature. This is a very dramatic and eye catching specimen, for both its composition and for the species! Four textbook, deep azure blue crystals are well isolated on an elongate piece of matrix and arranged very artistically. The separation of the Azurite crystals is excellent and shows off these sharply formed crystals so well on the pillar of contrasting matrix. The large, exceptional crystal near the top is 2.8 cm long and 1 cm wide and, amazingly, doubly terminated! The other three extraordinary crystals measure 1.5, 1.4 and 1.1 cm in length. The four amazing, midnight blue crystals are set on a brown-orange Goethite matrix sprinkled with tiny, green, scintillating Smithsonite crystals. Just an breathtaking Azurite miniature from this classic locality. Valued $2500-3500.
