Azurite

Item Description

Touissit is one of the top world localities for Azurite. These specimens are beloved by collectors for their excellent form, color and quality. This piece is filled with excellent deep midnight azure color, lustrous, blocky crystals of Azurite sitting on matrix. The crystals are in a semi-parallel / "stacked" formation, and the largest aggregate of crystals measures 3.2 cm long. Like many Azurites from Touissit, some of the corners of the crystals glow with an electric indigo color when backlit. The piece overall is in good condition, but there are some small imperfections in a few spots, so it's not completely undamaged. A great piece to round out your Azurite suite, or even more specifically your collection of Azurites from Morocco. The piece can be displayed from a few directions. This piece dates back to the late 1990s and similar quality specimens haven't been found from Touissit in a while. Priced at $1,800 in the inventory.
