Item Description
Gemmy-to-translucent and rare, this highly lustrous, pink to lavender Magnesium rich Axinite (officially Axinite-Mg) is from the famous gemstone mines of Merelani Hills in Tanzania. Out of the impressive and expansive collection of Dr. Robert J. Lauf, this is a PUBLISHED and Type Locality specimen, both of which are of particular interest to collectors. Note card, signed book, and any old labels included. This was an early example, purchased by Bob from Steve Ulatowski from the earlier finds here.
