Item Description
Very glassy, highly lustrous, transparent to translucent, mauve-colored axinite blades are dramatically clustered atop matrix on this sculptural upright specimen from the Alpine-type metamorphic deposits at Tormiq. The upper part of this piece is solid axinite crystals with a fine 360-degree visual aspect. The large blade on one side is 5.7 cm and the isolated crystal on another side is 3.8 cm. The noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of this showy piece. These fine axinites are very similar to "Alpine type" Axinites from Russia, or true Alpine Axinites from Europe.
