Item Description

From the type locality for the species, here we have a classic old time specimen Axinite-(Fe) featuring many sharp, HIGHLY lustrous, gemmy, purplish-brown colored, bladed / "wedge"-shaped crystals measuring up to 1.4 cm on massive Axinite-(Fe) matrix. Despite a few contacts here and there, several crystals on the specimen are pristine and superb quality in terms of sharpness, luster and crystal form. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10909). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
