Axinite-(Fe) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Wedge-shaped, clove-purple colored crystals of sharp, lustrous, translucent Axinite-(Fe) measuring up to 1.5 cm on minor matrix from a locality called "Catogue" according to the label. More of a reference piece than anything else, but it would make a decent addition to an Alpine collection or a suite of Swiss minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
