Axinite-(Fe) is EXTREMELY RARE from any Afghanistan locality. Striking, large, glassy, translucent, tan tapered prisms with sharp edges and striated, stepped-growth faces are dramatically intergrown. The impressive large blade is 4.5 cm across at the top edge. Glassy, mint-green diopside prisms at the base on one side are a super and rare accent. Complete all-around and pristine. A possibly unique combination piece from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this piece at $600, more than 6 years ago. Valued today at $1000-1200 for unique rarity and quality.
