Piz Vallatscha is a classic Swiss axinite locality, but excellent specimens are RARE and OLD. This exceptional, rich and aesthetic combination has a super provenance. Beautiful clusters of gemmy, glassy, classic clove-brown axinite blades dramatically cover the quartzite matrix covered with sharp, lustrous, snow-white, adularia crystals. This super combination is essentially pristine. Ex Clarence Bement and American Museum Collections (the collection was donated by JP Morgan in 1910, so it predates that!).
