Item Description

A group of sharp, well-formed, tabular crystals of purplish Axinite-(Fe) up to 2.2 cm sit atop matrix. From a "kleft" deposit in the Himalayas of Pakistan, very similar to "Alpine type" Axinites from Russia, or true Alpine Axinites from Europe. Despite a little bit of damage, the crystals are rather lustrous, and even pass light in areas. Axinite in general is not typically found in fine crystals from many world localities, and these fairly new specimens from Pakistan have given collectors a chance to add some interesting pieces to their collections.
