Here we have a beautiful and fine quality example of the famous old Axinite-(Fe) specimens from the Bor Pit at Dalnegorsk, Russia. These specimens are notably different from their counterparts from Dodo or Puiva, as the habit is distinctive due to the fact that the crystals are more tightly intergrown like groups of "feathers". This piece features several razor-sharp, highly lustrous, rich clove-brown colored crystals forming an aesthetic display specimen. No matrix, but you don't need any because the piece is showy and eye-catching on its own. Very little damage, mostly around the lower portion of the piece where it was removed from the pocket wall. It's not common to find showy miniature sized pieces of this material, and nothing new has come out in several years, so don't miss out on this attractive and fine quality example of these soon-to-be classics from Dalnegorsk.
