Axinite

Item Description

This is one of the largest crystals I've seen from this locality. It's a sharp, opaque to translucent, clove purple / golden brown colored Axinite-(Fe) crystal section from Mun. de Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. The piece is nearly crystallized all the way around, making it a near "floater" crystal. It's actually difficult to see through, becuase it's a little thick, which is not common for Axinite crystals of any species. I haven't seen many of these pieces on the market, and this is more than a reference specimen due to its size. You rarely find 3 inch + crystals of Axinite from any locality.
