Autunite (fluorescent)

Item Description

Excellent cluster of Autunite crystals richly cover the surface of this miniature from Les Oudots Quarry, which is in the same area as the type locality for Autunite. The crystals, which range up to 9 mm, are well-defined prisms that often have a complex growth. Most outstanding is the vivid, almost electric green color, which is complemented by a fluoresence that is even more intense. This superb and aesthetic miniature is even better in person, and was #9793 in Kay's collection.
