Item Description

Aurichalcite is an uncommon zinc copper carbonate species, and some of the finest and most well-known examples in the modern era of mineral collecting are those from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This miniature sized piece is a wonderful classic Aurichalcite specimen from this renowned mine. The piece features gorgeous, rich greenish-blue, acicular crystals in radial "bursts" associated with tiny dark blue "balls" of Rosasite and gemmy micro white/colorless prisms of Hemimorphite in vugs of Limonite matrix. Beautiful to view up close with a loupe or under the microscope. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
