Item Description

Beautiful and colorful spherical aggregates tiny powder-blue aurichalcite needles cover the sculptural gossan matrix and are partially covered with clusters of stark white bladed calcite crystals. Classic, excellent and rich combination material from the well-known extinct small surface and underground Cu-Ag-Pb-Zn-Au-Mn-W-Mo mine. The first copper produced in any considerable quantity in Pima County came from this mine, which produced from 1877-1920 (MINDAT). Ex Harold Urish Collection # 496 and self-collected in March, 1994.
