Item Description

Striking, beautiful, densely intergrown jackstraw sprays of rich sky-blue, acicular aurichalcite crystals are dramatically, artistically and richly set on the friable gossan matrix crust. The transmitted light turns the silky luster needles light blue to white, adding contrast and character. There is more aurichalcite on the back as a bonus. The extinct small underground Silver Bill Pb-Zn-Ag-Cu-Au-Mo-Mn-Gemstone mine produced intermittently from 1893 to 1978. The Mystery Tunnel was driven in 1923. See the 1983 Mineralogical Record article in Arizona-IV, Vol. 14, No. 2. Specimens of this richness and size are RARE from here and this is an outstanding example.
