Item Description
A cool pseudomorphs association specimen from this lesser known Cu-Ag-Pb-Zn-Au-Mn-W-Mo mine in far southern central Arizona. The piece hosts small, relatively well-formed pseudomorphs of light blue Aurichalcite (and most likely darker blue-green Rosasite) replacing small "sword"-shaped crystals of Azurite (some of which had already psuedomorphed to Malachite) on beautifully contrasting black Goethite matrix. This is a MULTIPLE GENERATION PSEUDOMORPH specimen as you can clearly see that the original Azurite crystals were replaced at least twice (first by Malachite, and secondly by Aurichalcite, and possibly a THIRD time by Rosasite!). Additionally, one can see small beaitufl radiating "sprays" of Aurichalcite which are not psuedomorphing another mineral. A wonderful piece compositionally, and truly eye-catching for the color combination. You don't see a lot of specimens from the Omega Mine on the market these days. This piece is from the collection of Brian Kosnar who obtained it from the Harold Urish collection.
