Item Description

Sculptural and RARE combination from the extinct small Cu-Ag-Zn-Pb-Au-W-Mo-U-Be Exile King Mine, that produced intermittently from the early 1900s to 1959 (MINDAT). Bright blue and blue-green aurichalcite crusts preferentially coat the striking, contrasting, 3-dimensional crust of knobby, bone-white calcite. The conical surface mounds appear to be calcite scalenohedrons. Periphery wear shows an aurichalcite crust, that underlies the calcite all-around. The highly unusual impressions in the underlying gossan matrix appear to be gossan/limonite, that has pseudomorphed (epimorphs) many calcite scalenohedrons. Calcite is NOT listed by MINDAT for the locale. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock. A rare, dramatic and colorful combination from this obscure locale near Tucson.
