Item Description

This is a hard to find Augite specimen from this obscure Italian Alpine locality featuring several sharp, well-formed, dark greenish-black monoclinic crystals of Augite measuring up to 6 mm, sitting on matrix. The crystals have distinct, well-formed faces and the luster is fairly good for the species. Augites are not commonly seen in good display specimens from the Alps, and this is an interesting oddball specimen for any diehard fan of European Alpine minerals.
From the collection of Gerry Morvell, with another label from the collection of Wolfgang Schneider.
