Sharp, brown-green, augite crystals to 6 mm are nicely set across the top, with a few more on the face of the intensely vesicular, lightweight basalt matrix on this rare and old-time specimen from the Azores. Augite is very rare from Faial Island. Ex Nuttall and Philadelphia Academy Collections.
