Item Description

Augite crystals of this sharpness are very uncommon from this well-known Bancroft area roadcut locale. The prismatic crystal has fine form, moderately lustrous dark gray color and an interesting lightly etched sloped termination. Complete all-around and pristine, this is an outstanding example of this common rock forming mineral. Rare and excellent augite from the Robert Nowakowski Collection.
