Item Description
A cool and fairly showy thumbnail specimen of Augite (possibly the variety "Jeffersonite") from the famous Trotter Mine at Franklin. The deep brown monoclinic crystals are fairly sharp and well-formed along with being somewhat isolated on the underyling Calcite matrix. The largest Augite measures 1.3 cm across.
