Augelite with Pyrite (rare locale)

Item Description

Here we have one of the lesser seen species from the famous San Jose mine. This is one of the more attractive and rare association specimens of this material that I have offered for sale because of the contrast of the white Augelite crystals and the sharp, bright Pyrite. It is remarkably difficult to find cabinet sized display specimens of Augelite from San Jose. Additionally, the largest Augelite crystal on the piece measures a full 6 mm, which is a fairly good sized Augelite crystal from Bolivia. This is a great example of this old material from one of the most famous mines in the Bolivian tin belt. From the collection of Richard Kosnar, who imported the piece from Bolivia in the late 1970s.
