Item Description

A rich and display-sized cluster of lustrous, mint-green Augelite crystals from the so-called Ortega Mine (actually they came from an adit in Pasto Bueno and were mislabelled at first) in Peru. Well-formed and translucent to gemmy, the largest of these partially striated phosphates is 1.8 cm. The overall display is very elegant and colorful, and fiils the space. It is common to see wear on the crystal terminations from here, and there is very minor chipping on some edges such as you see here; but nonetheless it doesn't stop Peruvian Augelites from ranking among the world's best and this specimen is a very beautiful example among them. For the species, this is a good, highly representative miniature. Valued $750-1000. Comes on the custom mount base of a previous owner. If you do not yet have one, this is a chance to get a highly aesthetic example of among the best of species finds for this gorgeous mineral species
