Item Description
Back in the early 2000s, these Augelite crystals were some of the best examples from Bolivia to hit the mineral market in a long time. They might not measure up to their Peruvian counterparts, but if you know anything about Bolivian minerals, then you'll know that this is a good quality and worthwhile example for what it is. This piece features a few fine, sharp, lustrous, colorless to white, gemmy to translucent crystals of Augelite measuring up to 1.0 mm associated with minor Quartz and rarely seen small sage green colored aggregates of Chlorargyrite on matrix. The quality of the Augelite crystals is very good and they are certainly large for this mine. This rare phosphate mineral is not seen often in any format from any locality on the market.
