The Augelites that have been coming out of Machacamarca over the last decade or so are some of the best Augelite crystals to hit the mineral market in a long time. This piece features several fine, sharp, lustrous, colorless, gemmy crystals of Augelite measuring up to 5 mm associated with micro Quartz and octahedral Pyrite on matrix. The quality of the Augelite crystals is very good and they are certainly good sized for this mine. The Augelites on this specimen are definitely some of the best quality I've seen from Bolivia since the old pieces from the San Jose mine in Oruro came out over 30 years ago. This rare phosphate mineral is not seen often in any format from any locality, so don't miss out.
