Augelite

Item Description

These are some of the best Augelite crystals from Bolivia to hit the mineral market in a long time. This piece features a few fine, sharp, lustrous, colorless, gemmy crystals of Augelite measuring up to 9 mm (very good sized for the locality) associated with minor Quartz on matrix. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is the fact that it is associated with a yellow minerals that I believe to be Oxyplumborome?ite which can be seen all over the specimen (I photographed it under the microscope as well to better illustrate it). From my experience with Augelite from Machcamarca, less than 1% of the pieces I've seen have this unusual association. The quality of the Augelite crystals is very good and they are certainly bigger than most for this mine. This rare phosphate mineral is not seen often in any format from any locality on the market.
