Item Description

These are some of the best Augelite crystals from Bolivia to hit the mineral market in a long time. This piece features several fine, sharp, lustrous, colorless, gemmy crystals of Augelite measuring up to 3 mm associated with a few blocky white crystals of Barite plus minor Quartz and Pyrite on matrix. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is the fact that a small green aggregate of what I believe to be Malachite can be seen in the middle of the specimen (I photographed it under the microscope as well to better illustrate its quality). From my experience with Augelite from Machcamarca, less than 1% of the pieces I've seen have this unusual Malachite association. The quality of the Augelite crystals is very good and they are certainly decent sized for this mine. This rare phosphate mineral is not seen often in any format from any locality on the market.
